These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and
MY Publishing LTD. (“Consumer Expert Tech”,
“we”, “us”) covering your use of
consumerexperttech.com and the pages we publish under it (the
“Site”).
Worth reading before you go further. There are disclaimers and
liability limits in here that genuinely affect your legal position, and browsing
the Site counts as accepting them.
Effective: September 9, 2026 · Last updated: September 9, 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
Opening a page on this Site binds you to these Terms, together with our
Privacy Policy and
Advertising Disclosure — both of which are
folded into this agreement by reference.
Not willing to accept them? Then please don’t use the Site. And if you are
accepting on a company’s behalf, you are confirming you have authority to
commit that company.
2. What this site is — and what it is not
Consumer Expert Tech is a consumer research and review publication, independently
run. We put products through testing, score them, rank them, and publish the
resulting opinion.
We are not a shop
Nothing on this Site is manufactured, sold, stocked, shipped, billed, warranted
or serviced by us. No orders reach us and no payments pass through us. When you
buy, the contract is between you and that merchant, on that merchant’s
terms — we are simply not a party to it.
Which is why order status, tracking, delivery, returns, refunds, exchanges,
warranty claims, cancellations and technical support are all beyond our reach.
Every one of them sits with the seller. Our contact page
walks you through finding them.
3. Who may use the site
This is an adult audience. Use the Site only if you are 18 or over — or older,
where your local age of majority is higher — and legally capable of entering
into an agreement like this one. Nothing here is aimed at children.
Where local law makes using a site like this unlawful, don’t. Staying on the
right side of the rules that apply where you are is your responsibility, not
ours.
4. Our content and your use of it
You have our permission to read the Site and to view, download and print what is
on it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. That license is limited,
non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable.
Except as that license allows, you may not:
- Reproduce, republish, syndicate, sell or commercially exploit any part of the Site
- Copy our reviews, scores, rankings, comparison tables or images onto another site or into another publication
- Use our content to train, fine-tune or build a machine learning model or dataset without our written permission
- Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark or attribution notice
- Frame or mirror the Site, or present our content as your own
Quoting a line or two with clear credit and a link back to the original page is
genuinely welcome — that is how the web is supposed to work. Beyond that, ask
us in writing first.
5. Reviews are opinion, not professional advice
Take everything here as general consumer information plus our editorial view.
It is not advice — not medical, health, safety, legal, financial
or tax advice — and it is no replacement for a qualified professional who knows
your particular circumstances.
A score records what we made of a particular product, on the date we assessed it,
measured against the criteria set out in our
review process. It guarantees nothing about
performance, suitability, safety or value, and it is a judgment call that sensible
people can reasonably dispute.
Whatever you buy, the manufacturer’s own instructions and safety
warnings come first, and a professional should be brought in when the
situation warrants one. What you ultimately decide to do with our content is your
call and your responsibility.
6. Affiliate relationships and advertising
Advertising and affiliate commissions pay for this Site. The safe assumption is
that any link pointing out to a product, retailer or brand is a commercial one, and
that a purchase made through it may earn us money. Your price is unaffected.
The full mechanics — including a frank account of what that money does and
does not influence — are in our
Advertising Disclosure, which forms part of these
Terms.
7. Third-party links, merchants and transactions
Outbound links point to sites nobody here owns or controls. They are there for
convenience and nothing more. We do not vet, monitor or endorse those sites, their
content, their security or the way they run their business, and a link is not a
character reference for the company at the other end.
The instant you follow a link off this Site, these Terms cease to apply and the
other company’s terms and privacy policy take over instead.
Read theirs before you hand over any money.
We are not responsible or liable for any dealing you have with a third party
found through this Site, including any loss or damage arising from the
purchase, delivery, use or failure of goods or services bought from them.
Complaints, claims and questions about a product or an order all belong with
whoever sold it to you.
8. Accuracy, prices and availability
We work at being accurate, and we still expect to get things wrong sometimes —
typos, mistakes, gaps, and material that has simply aged out. Any of it may be
corrected, altered or removed at any time without notice, and nothing obliges us
to keep a given page current.
Pricing, discounts, bundles, promotions and stock move constantly, usually without
warning. Anything of that kind on this page was believed correct on the day it was
written and may well have gone stale since. Treat the merchant’s own
listing and checkout as the single source of truth for what you pay and
what turns up.
Some pages are kept deliberately as a record of an earlier verdict. They are
archive, not current guidance, and should not be read as though they were.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site to:
- Break any law, or encourage or help anyone else to break one
- Infringe our intellectual property rights or anyone else’s
- Harass, abuse, threaten, defame, impersonate or discriminate against any person
- Submit false, misleading or deliberately deceptive information
- Upload or transmit any virus, worm or other malicious code
- Scrape, spider, crawl, harvest or bulk-download the Site or its content by automated means, except by a search engine obeying our robots directives
- Collect or track other people’s personal information
- Send spam, or use the Site for phishing, pharming or pretexting
- Interfere with, overload, disable or circumvent the security of the Site or the servers and networks behind it
We may investigate and take any action we consider appropriate for a breach of
this section, including blocking your access and reporting you to the
authorities.
10. Your submissions
If you send us a comment, question, review, suggestion, idea or other material
(a “Submission”), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide,
royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable license to use, reproduce, edit,
adapt, translate, publish and distribute it in any medium, in connection with
the Site and our business.
You confirm that your Submission:
- Is yours to send, and does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights
- Is not unlawful, abusive, obscene, defamatory or otherwise objectionable
- Does not contain malicious code, and does not misrepresent who you are
Nothing obliges us to keep a Submission private, to pay for it, to reply to it or
to publish it at all, and we may edit or take down any Submission as we see fit.
Responsibility for what you send stays with you, and we accept no liability for
material posted by you or by anyone else.
11. Intellectual property
The Site and its content — text, reviews, scores, rankings, photographs,
graphics, video, layout, design, code and the compilation of all of it — are
owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and
other laws.
The Consumer Expert Tech name, our logo and our page and section names are our
trademarks. Every other company’s product name, brand name and logo belongs to
that company; they appear here purely to identify and describe what we are writing
about. Nothing in that usage implies affiliation with those owners, sponsorship by
them, or their endorsement of us.
If you believe material on this Site infringes your copyright, contact
[email protected]
with enough detail to identify the work and the page concerned, and we will
investigate.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal
information we collect through the Site, how we use and share it, how long we
keep it, and the rights you have over it. By using the Site you acknowledge
that policy.
13. Availability of the site
Any part of this Site may be changed, paused, restricted or shut down at any time,
with or without warning, and we may cap particular features or close off sections
entirely.
We do not guarantee that the Site will be available uninterrupted or
error-free, and we are not liable to you or to anyone else for any change,
suspension or discontinuation.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and all its content are provided “as is” and
“as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or
implied.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including
the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose,
title and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be
uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free; that defects will be corrected;
that the Site is free of viruses; or that the content, ratings, results or
recommendations you obtain from it will be accurate, complete, current or
reliable.
No advice or information you obtain from us creates any warranty not expressly
stated here. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain
warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing here
affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither Consumer Expert Tech nor
its owners, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, suppliers or
licensors will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential,
punitive or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, savings,
data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or connected with your
use of — or inability to use — the Site or its content, whether based in
contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or any other legal
theory, and even if we have been advised that such damages are possible.
This includes, without limitation, any loss or damage arising from your
purchase or use of a product you found through this Site, from any dealing with
a third-party merchant, or from any error, omission or inaccuracy in our
content.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability to
you for all claims relating to the Site is limited to one hundred US dollars
(US$100.00).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal
injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or
for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable
law. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain
damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless MY Publishing LTD. and its owners, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, suppliers
and licensors from any claim, demand, loss, liability or expense — including
reasonable legal fees — arising out of your breach of these Terms, your
misuse of the Site, your Submissions, or your violation of any law or of the
rights of any third party.
17. Termination
These Terms run for as long as you keep using the Site, and you can end them
whenever you like simply by stopping.
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, without notice, if we
believe you have breached these Terms or that your use of the Site poses a
risk to us or to others.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including sections
4, 10, 11 and 14 to 19 — continue to apply after it.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the
Site, are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without
regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
You agree that the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel have exclusive jurisdiction over any
such dispute, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue. The United
Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not
apply.
Before starting formal proceedings, we ask that you contact us at
[email protected]
so that we can try to resolve the matter directly. If you are a consumer
resident in the UK or EU, this section does not deprive you of the protection
of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, or of your right to bring
proceedings in your local courts.
19. General provisions
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held unlawful, void or unenforceable, it
will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and severed to the extent it
cannot be. The remaining provisions stay in full force.
No waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or
provision, and no waiver is effective unless made in writing by us.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may
assign them freely, including in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale
of the Site.
Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and
Advertising Disclosure, are the entire agreement
between you and us regarding the Site, and supersede any earlier agreement or
understanding on the subject. Any ambiguity will not be construed against us
merely because we drafted them.
Headings
Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect the interpretation
of these Terms.
20. Changes to these terms
Updates happen by posting a revised version here and moving the
“last updated” date. Checking back now and then is on you.
Carrying on using the Site once a change has taken effect counts as accepting the
revised Terms. If they do not suit you, the remedy is to stop using it.
